Personal Development Training including Equine Facilitated Learning
Louise is a qualified vocational education and training (VET) trainer focussing on Leadership and Management.
Louise is also qualified with Eponaquest Worldwide as an Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL*) Instructor and Socially Intelligent Leadership Facilitator under their Master Herder program.
Louise provides a range of personal development workshops for corporate, community and individual clients, incorporating various levels of EFL to add a different dimension to the learning process. She also offers specific Equine Facilitated Learning workshops over one and two days. Equine Facilitated Learning requires non previous experience with horses, so is open and available to all.
Her workshops are tailored to each client group and can include topics such as authentic goal getting, boundary setting, developing intuition, socially intelligent leadership, developing assertiveness and emotional fitness, team building, nonverbal communication and using the body as a sensing tool.
*EFL is an experiential learning approach that uses the natural intelligence and social behaviour of horses as a mirror for human patterns, communication, and emotional awareness. Developed by Linda Kohanov and taught by Eponaquest Worldwide instructors, EFL invites participants to engage directly with horses on the ground in a safe, supportive environment.
Because horses respond to our inner state — including our intentions, emotional honesty, body language and energy — they offer immediate, non-judgmental feedback that helps people learn about leadership, relationship skills, emotional intelligence, presence, and embodied awareness. This work is not about riding; it’s about forming a partnership of attention, clarity and authenticity with the horse that reveals insights into how we relate to ourselves and others.
EFL is used in personal development, leadership and team training, coaching and therapeutic contexts to help participants strengthen self-awareness, confidence, communication skills, and conscious presence.

“’I’ve experienced equine-facilitated learning with Louise Hillman through her Eponaquest based workshops both as a participant and by supporting group facilitation, and I found the work incredibly powerful.
What really stood out for me was how accessible this work is for a wide range of people — whether they see themselves as “horsey” or not. The horses offer intuitive, honest feedback that helps people learn about themselves in a way that feels natural and meaningful. Louise creates a warm, relational, and compassionate space where people feel safe to explore and reflect at their own pace.
I work in a similar field and am aware of the growing research supporting equine-facilitated approaches. From both a personal and professional perspective, I was really impressed by the depth, integrity, and care Louise brings to her work. She has a genuine ability to read both people and horses and to help translate those moments into learning that people can take back into everyday life.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Louise’s services to individuals or groups wanting a thoughtful, experiential way to learn and grow through horses.'
